"Just make sure you run a perimeter check tomorrow," said the Security Chief to the new recruit, Baron. "I'll take care of the rest just for the time being. Dismissed!". That ended the weekly maintenance meeting at the CTUK(Center of Telecommunications ,United Kingdom). Baron was as excited about his new job but just a little more scared too. Because if he messes up anything in his work, he is as good as going to jail.
The CTUK building was huge, as it served for the entire UK. The building was 30 stored building with very modern architecture. The first 4 floors were underground and served as the server room, the most important room in the system. The first 3 floors above ground level were specified in the rooms for Security, Environmental Staff, Kitchen and also there was the entrance to the server room.
Baron's job was to ensure the good condition of the server room. He was pretty happy with his salary considering his age. He checked the server room once every three days.
The day after Baron's first meeting, it was his workmate Lewis's day to check the server room. The people in charge of the server room were the only ones who had the access to the room. Lewis put on his jacket and got the access card and proceeded towards the room.
He got out from the elevator and entered the room and scrutinized it carefully, while suddenly he got a weird sound coming from the circuit board which he then thought was the cause of the lights suddenly going off. He rushed towards the circuit board and found out it was totally damaged, which resulted in the servers turning off. The Security Chief recklessly sprinted towards the room. When he was just about to call the elevator, he saw Lewis brutally wounded, drooling in pain, shouting and soaked in his own blood.
"YOU HAVE TO KILL THAT MONSTER! IT ALMOST KILLED ME! IT'S MESSING UP THE SERVERS! HOW THE HELL DID IT GET IN?!" Lewis shouted in his highest pitch of voice. It seemed as if Lewis had seen a terrific thing which obviously put him in such state. He was reported to the hospital while the entire office remained useless.
The news about this "monster" had not yet been spread to many people. Not even did the company let the media know. The news didn't even go through the entire building.
Lewis himself didn't even know. He didn't want to be late so he rushed towards the server room in order to check it, from a different access point. He grabbed his pair of keys and got hold of a torch and entered the elevator.
When the elevator door opened he felt good that he had brought a torch because it was dark. Since he was a newbie at his work he opened up a small instructions book regarding his work and silently read it. He didn't rush it. He slowly walked towards the end point of the room with the book in his hand.
Suddenly he heard a growling sound coming from his left. He slowly passed the rows of servers one by one leaving the exit way behind him. The sound got clearer and more deadly. It could be anything, He reckoned that it would probably be a sound recorder some guard dropped by while checking. Because many guards capture the the training lecture on sound recorders.
He went near it. While he saw two of the servers totally grounded. He caught a glimpse of two crimson, radiant, huge pair of eyes. He knew it was his death.
