Running around, John suddenly realized that he was completely lost in a huge, baleful deathtrap called the forest. He struggled to find food, shelter and tried to use the best of his knowledge to survive another day. John tried to remain as discreet as possible, in order to repel any unwelcome guests. For if he ,by any chance, comes in range with the king of the forest, he knows that his only weapon is a kitchen knife. He picked a place to build a temporary home quite higher than the canopy. It was no problem for him to get somewhere that because he was an awesome climber. He made his home invulnerable from ground attacks. It was made out of medium sized logs, he got from the ground. His only aim now was to get to the top of the hill, from there he could use the flare sticks he had ,to send an SOS signal.
The forest had a dangerous ecosystem. The environment was just as dangerous as the animals that lived there. The carnivores had different hunting tactics of their own. The forest got more and more dangerous by the hour. The chance of survival without water wasn't low in this forest as there were enough fruit trees here, but guarded by the ferocious monkeys who formed groups to help protect different parts of the canopy.
By the last hour he was awake in the "first day", he had made some good weapons ,using his knife ,just enough to hold off the lightest of beasts in the forest. His first weapon was a long, pointed, wooden stake. His second weapon was a coconut shell filled with liquid glue from it's tree. He planned to throw this shell towards the animal so that it would feel irritation and leave him immediately. And his third weapon was his knife itself.
John passed this night with almost no sleep. It wasn't like he was uncomfortable or anything.....he was scared. Scared of the silence.

In the next day as soon as he saw sunlight, John got up from his bed and started his journey towards the hill with all his weapons at the ready. He regretted his negligence to gym class, otherwise he would have been much much stronger against the competition he was in now. His head was aching, skin was dry and he was feeling extremely dizzy. He took many short breaks in order to get back to his senses. He now knew that he was suffering from dehydration. The lack of sleep hindered his journey greatly but he had no interest in delaying his journey in something he thought of as so stupid as sleep. He continued on his journey avoiding the fact that his body started to betray him in all the ways possible. After travelling about 30 minutes in extreme pain, he suddenly fell to the ground, unconscious of where he was. He tried his best to get up but he just couldn't do it. He fell asleep.
After about 6 hours, John opened his eyes feeling much refreshed now but also shocked about the fact that he didn't yet prepare a proper shelter now in the dark. It would cost him almost an hour now to make a spot for the night. He knew that he would only be killed by the monkeys if he went near the fruit trees to get food. He had only one option now: Stay awake the whole night.
He slowly and prudently proceeded forwards, gripping his stake(which he now lit fire on) on one hand and the pot of glue on the other, toward the hill which was about 4 kilometers away from him. His legs were shivering from the horror. He had lost all his hope.
Suddenly John was attracted by the sound of rustling dry leaves which were obviously being stepped on, as far as he could deduce. He crouched, still scanning the landscape all around him. He stood up and continued walking again.
Again he was alarmed by the same commotion he had experienced a moment ago. This time he stopped and payed more concentration towards the sound. Suddenly the sound grew harder and came closer until John saw a huge mammal vaulting over a fat log and landing straight a few meters in front of him from the darkness out of his range of sight. The creature growled from deep in its throat, baring its fangs. Eyes fixed on John. John's body went cold and senseless. The rush of terror that he felt canceled out his concentration on the reality. When the feeling sank in, John could salvage some meaning from something that was just plain terror. And sure enough.......... it was the queen of the forest.....The Tiger!!!
